2013 Baltic Cruise

Hamburg
Woke to an overcast and rainy Hamburg and thought hell here
goes my walk about to day.
I landed up at the right place at the right time – figured
out what was going on – it was the Port of Hamburg’s birthday and oh boy do
they celebrate in style – a three day music festival.
The waterfront and harbour was exceptionally busy -
thousands of people in the streets and lining every conceivable space along the
walk ways. Asked around and was told about the parade/flotilla along the river
Elbe – along which the harbour of Hamburg is built. I was not to be
disappointed – ships of every kind took part – Tall Ships – old Steam Ships –
Ferries – Pleasure craft - and more. I was in Cruise & Tall Ship heaven.
Even the brand new cruise ship the Europa 2 took part.
But my biggest surprise was yet to come.
