2013 Baltic Cruise
My Day in Paris
Arrived from Poitiers at Charles
de Gaulle Airport mid-morning and made my way to my hotel. Decided to stay at my
hotel for the afternoon and make my way into Paris early the next morning.
Woke up to a very wet Paris – it
would appear that it was going to rain all day – but decided to go into Paris
anyway.
I am not one that enjoys doing
the Metro but had no choice.
Got off at Saint Michel/Notre
Dame station – and my day started with a coffee and croissant.
It would seem that I was going to
be in luck as it had stopped raining.
Started my tour at the Notre Dame
Cathedral and then took the Hop on Hop off bus until the Eiffel Tower.
Spent as much time as I could
walking around the Eiffel Tower and then strolled around the city back towards
the Champs – Elysees – and then it started to pour with rain. Managed to get to
the bus stop for the tour bus as it was the only way to stay dry. So did the
rest of Paris from the bus and stopped where I had started earlier in the day.
I definitely need to go back –
missed so much – hopefully the weather will be better when I next visit.
It was homeward bound after my
day in Paris and was looking forward to getting back home.
